This paper is a summary of a study in early medieval ceramics from 9th-10th and 11th centuries in the territory of Old Catalonia or Old Spanish March, which is being developed within the framework of a doctoral thesis. A first draft typology of Catalan ceramics from the carolingian and postcarolingian periods are presented here, offering a chronological range between three hundred years of use and dissemination of this pieces. To date, 10 types of pottery vessels have been identified, with their variants, divided into closed and open forms. ROIG, J. In this article you will find the latest results of the excavations on the site Plaça Major de Castellar del Vallès (Castellar del Vallès, Barcelona). It includes a neolithic settlement (silos and grave pit), parts of a late roman villae and a rural settlement from the late antiquity (5th – 7th c.) with sunken huts, silos and necropolis and with a very wide ceramic and glass collection. In this paper we deal with the Neolithic burials at the site of Can Gambús-1, belonging of the so called “Cultura de los Sepulcros de Fosa” (from end of the fifth to the beginning of the fourth millennia cal BC). The main aim is to present new data on the procedures of excavation of the pits, the materials used in the covering of the graves and the treatment given to some of the corpses. The detailed archaeological reconstruction of the funerary behaviour has been possible thanks to the exceptional preservation of the graves and the rigorous process of archaeological excavation. Likewise, the grave goods recovered in the burials are presented. Their quantity and quality is outstanding compared with other similar funerary contexts. ROIG, J. – COLL, J. This paper is a first overview of a wider study on rural settlements in the Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages in Catalonia. It includes a review of the studies that are taking place and of the new main archaeological sites. ROIG, J. The excavation of Can Gambús-1 area, revealed a rural settlement of the iberian period. In this article, we present an accurated analysis of the materials recovered in the silos found. The archaeological excavation of Prat de la Riba, 14 (Mollet del Vallès, Vallès Occ.) uncovered remains of the medieval cemetery and some silos of the parish of St. Vicenç de Mollet. These are the first archaeological evidence we have of the medieval village of Mollet (Molletum), build around the church between 12th-13th century, that is mentioned in the written documentation.
